Building on an Inspired Vision
California Wellbeing draws inspiration from an allied entity once known by the same name. The original California Wellbeing Institute was founded in 2006 by Dole Foods CEO David Murdock and WellPoint Inc. to provide state-of-the-art preventive medicine in a luxury setting at the Four Seasons Hotel in Westlake Village, California. That organization later joined with Dr. Andrew Conrad, currently the CEO of Google Life Sciences, and changed its name to California Health & Longevity Institute (CHLI).
The current California Wellbeing Institute was charted in August 2015, when President Chad Tew stepped down as the CFO at CHLI to extend education and support for wellbeing to a broader audience. California Wellbeing continues to partner with CHLI, in which Mr. Tew maintains a small ownership interest.
